Climate Action: Invitation to Webinars and Survey

Cristina Cristea News

Dear FIMCAP Member Organisations,

At the General Assembly in 2019, we decided on a resolution, “Calling for immediate and comprehensive action to combat the climate crisis”.
This has been the basis for the policy work of FIMCAP over the last three years. We have worked with other youth organisations on climate action and have become an accredited observer organisation at the Climate Conferences organised each year by the UN. For the third time, we are sending delegates to the Climate Conference to represent the children and young people from our 31 member organisations in the negotiations. The Climate Conference will take place in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, for two weeks in November 2022.

Together with other youth organisations, catholic organisations and contacts from our countries, we are preparing the FIMCAP positions on topics that will be negotiated at the Climate Conference. To better represent all our member organisations, we would like your input on the questions that will be negotiated that are particularly relevant to us as youth organisations coming from different parts of the world.

Please fill out the following survey by October 26, 2022:

Duration of the survey: approximately 20 minutes

We are also organising two zoom webinars with inputs from experts where we invite you to learn about the topics as well as share your opinion with us.

SDGs and Climate Action – Empowering Young People to Change our World

October 24, 2022, 20.00 – 21.30 CEST
FIMCAP has been working on the SDGs for a few years. As youth organisations, we play a big role in the development of children and young people. It is particularly important to prepare the younger generations for their role in climate action. How do we make sure that the SDGs can be used to empower young people to contribute? What support do we need on the national level? And how can we participate in the political processes to implement the Climate Convention and the Paris Agreement?

Sign up here for the seminar:

Please forward the survey and webinar invitations to anyone within your member organisation who is interested in climate action.

We are looking forward to your inputs and to representing FIMCAP at the Climate Conference.
