✓ We also have the “ADULT SUPPORTIVE BODY”, aged 36+ and are there to give support
What kind of activity do they carry out?
✓ SPIRITUAL: Retreats, Revivals, Bible quiz, Rosary walks, etc
✓ EDUCATIONAL: Leadership workshops, seminars, Business symposiums, etc
✓ RECREATIVE: Sports camps, Talent shows, etc
✓ SOCIAL OUTREACH: Donating to orphans, visiting the sick and the needy, etc

We adopted the 2020 World youth day theme: “Young man, I say to you, arise!”(Luke 7: 14)

Currently we only use social media platforms like Facebook but we are working on developing our Chiro magazine (Flame). All members will be required to subscribe to it.

The organisation started operating on January 31st 1993
How many members do you have?
The membership of the organisation keeps increasing; currently we have up to 1115 members in the organisation.
What kind of activity do they carry out?
Part of our mission is meeting the religious, social and recreational needs of our youths in a bid to help them live a Christ like life and as well be useful to the society. Here are highlights of some of our activities:
1. Religious activities: Crusades or All Night prayers, Retreats, Pilgrimages, Bible Studies, Church cleaning, singer-fest, home visitations, Thanksgiving celebrations and caring for fellow members.
2. Social activities: Sports (footbal, volleyball and athletics), Music ministry, engaging in educational and other developmental activities such as quiz and debates, National and International campaigns against corruption, nonviolence, work against rape and sexual assaults, against domestic violence, teenage pregnancy and early marriage; promote equality, fight against social injustice and for youth empowerment through World Youth Day, National Youth Assembly etc.
3. Educational Activities: we organise quarterly workshops to empower our membership with knowledge on beneficial topics including the Catholic Doctrine.

Do you publish a magazine or newsletter for your members?
We did publish quarterly newsletters not only for our membership but also for the consumption of the catholic community within Sierra Leone. However, it’s been two years since we did our last publication of the newsletter. Instead of a newsletter, this year we published a photo news on our thanksgiving activities.

A member of the Ghana CYO is called a “CRUSADER” which means a person
who fights for the Kingdom of God. GHANA CYO HAS ABOUT 20,000 MEMBERS which is renewed yearly and it’s divided into 3
sections:
- Infant Jesus section ages 6 to 11 years
- Young Apostles section ages 12 to 16 years
- Christian Soldiers section ages 17 years and above
- We also have the “MOST SENIOR CRUSADER” title awarded to distinguished senior
crusaders who have been with the CYO 50 years above and are there as advisors and Consultants.
What kind of activity do they carry out?
1. RELIGIOUS: Retreats, Recollections, Bible quiz, Rosary walks, etc
2. EDUCATIONAL: Leadership Training, Workshops, Management meetings, etc
3. RECREATIONAL: Sports, Rally/Camps, Jamboree, Talent hunts, etc
4. CULTURAL: Drumming and dancing, singing, drama, stage plays, etc

Our members wear uniform like in the pictures. Also, we have a logo or emblem which is round like the world and on the world are the letters C.Y.O. Our emblem means that we work in our movement for God and all in the World. Ghana CYO colours are green
and white.
White signifies purity, honesty, simplicity and peace.
Green signifies youth, energy and hope

The Organization helps crusaders/members become good national leaders and Stewards for Christ. It helps promote Unity and faithfulness in the body of Christ.
